Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Apprentice - Level 2
Duration: 27 months
Starting Salary: £23,926 (subject to 2025 review)
Working Hours: Mon - Fri 07:00 - 15:30
Location: Olive Grove, Sheffield, S2 3GE
What You'll Do:
From day one, you will be given real responsibility, gaining invaluable experience and exposure, working alongside our industry experts and across your team. As an apprentice, you will be working alongside the team to deliver the following:
1. Storm Clearance
2. Tree Planting and young tree maintenance
3. Operate and maintain light plant and power tools
4. Pesticide/Herbicide spraying
5. Propagation
6. Composition/waste management
7. Maintenance of ornamental grass
8. Identification of plants including scientific names
9. Biodiversity and invasive species legislation
10. Establish and maintain soft landscape (perennial and annual)
11. Carry out any other duties which may reasonably be expected/requested.

What You'll Bring:
Qualifications: Minimum GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above
Skills: Reasonably good oral communicator who can present arguments and ideas. Can produce reports to a good standard. Networking, Problem Solving, Managing Change, Planning and organising, Passion for developing your skills both professionally and personally.
Experience: Full driving Licence
Behavioural competencies: Analytical Thinking, Problem reframing and resolution, Effective communication, Relationship Development, Communication, Adaptability, Drive & determination. Team player in both own team and across virtual teams. Ability to work to deadlines and on own initiative.
