Defra Jobs
Following the UK’s decision to leave the EU, the government has been developing a new approach to farming and the countryside in England, describing it as the “biggest change in agricultural policy in half a century”. This transformation is taking place at a time when extreme weather, market conditions and world events are combining to put many farm businesses under pressure.
These roles offer an exciting opportunity to be part of the farming and Countryside programme within Defra, and to directly contribute to shaping this digital delivery at scale.
In your role as Lead Product Manager, you will be responsible for the quality of products. You will use your knowledge of user needs and business goals to frame problems and set priorities for delivery teams, as well as to develop strategic roadmaps to ensure delivery.
You will need to be unafraid to take risks, willing to learn from mistakes and appreciate the importance of agile project delivery for digital projects in government. You will also ensure the team knows what each other is working on and how this relates to practical government objectives and user needs.
