The Role
As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll be part of the Quality and Improvement Management Team, providing assurance that vehicles and products are developed and delivered to the correct quality levels, ensuring compliance with contractual flow downs and legislative requirements.
* Conduct audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality systems (ISO 9001, Six Sigma, etc.).
* Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) and identify opportunities for process optimization to reduce defects and improve efficiency.
* Maintain and update quality documentation, including manuals, procedures, and reports.
* Track and analyse data to identify trends and prepare detailed reports on quality metrics and performance for management review.
* Compile Product Quality Plans.
* Co-ordinate site action responses and provide periodic reports on corrective action plans and progress to external bodies such as DNV, DQAFF, SMF, DVSA.
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport, Plymouth with regular travel to our Walsall site on a bi-monthly basis.
Essential Experience
* Demonstrable experience and success in quality control/assurance in an automotive/defence production environment.
* Experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and understanding customer requirements regarding quality control.
* Ability to develop/compile Product Quality Plans (PQP).
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
* Experience in applying statistical analysis to data.
* Proficiency in quality tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, PPAP, MSA, 8D’s, 5 why’s, DMAIC, Ishikawa diagrams).
* Practical knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and compliance standards including ISO9001 or ISO/TS16949 and/or AS/EN 9100.
