Job Description
Midlothian Council, Transportation is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Operational and Technical manager whom will hold the operators licence on behalf of the local authority as the nominated Transport Manager.
Leading a team of technical, specialist and administrative staff you will be responsible for overseeing efficient, timeous and quality fleet management ensuring our extensive fleet is kept on the road and delivering essential services to our communities. Furthermore as the principle Transport manager you will ensure policy and procedure is in place to ensure compliance with the regulations set by the traffic commissioner to include tasks such as daily checks, maintenance of OCRS rating and drivers hours management.
Essential
Transport management CPC
Experience of staff management, IT systems used in an office environment, project management and financial responsibility.
Clear evidence of commitment to continuing professional development.
Drivers licence
Desirable
Experience of Managing an MOT station
IOSH managing safely or equivalent

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.
Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £52,369.69 per annum.
Responsibilities
Compliance with the mandatory Cabinet Office PSN (Public Sector Network) Code of Connection requires the Council to meet a baseline personal security standard. This requires completion of a disclosure check for all employees who can access official information. The fee for this PSN Disclosure check will be met by you.
