Job Description:
On behalf of Warwickshire County Council, Pertemps Recruitment offers an exciting opportunity for a Claims Officer to join their Warwick-based team. This high-profile role is ideal for someone with experience in insurance claims, looking to gain experience working within a Local Authority.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure all claims are notified to the claims handling system with accurate and up-to-date records.
* Investigate claims by assessing and obtaining necessary information from relevant Council teams or other parties; on-site meetings may be required.
* Assess evidence against allegations and legislation to determine legal liability for the Council.
* Communicate liability decisions to claimants, legal advisors, or external claims handlers, and explain reasoning to Council Teams.
* Gather evidence to evaluate quantum, including reports from motor engineers, medical reports, receipts, etc.
* Evaluate, negotiate, and settle claims, including solicitor's costs.
* Update the claims handling system following established procedures.
Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 years' experience handling liability claims with an insurance company.
* Understanding of Civil Procedure Rules through qualifications or experience.
* Excellent communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
