Art & Design Teacher – Secondary School in Eastleigh, Hampshire

If so, GSL Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time Art & Design Teacher to join a secondary school in Eastleigh. Offering a competitive salary between £30,000 to £50,000 per year (Depending on experience), this role starts from Easter 2025 or September 2025, depending on notice periods. A permanent contract is available upon the successful completion of a probationary period. This is a fantastic opportunity for both ECTs and experienced teachers, with the school also open to considering unqualified teachers who are subject specialists.
Responsibilities of the Art & Design Teacher:
1. Deliver engaging and creative Art & Design lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
2. Plan, prepare, and assess students’ work to ensure academic progress.
3. Provide constructive feedback and support to help students develop their artistic skills.
4. Participate in school events, exhibitions, and extracurricular activities.
5. Attend parents’ evenings and staff meetings and contribute to department development.
Requirements of the Art & Design Teacher:
1. A degree in Art, Design, or a related subject.
2. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
3. Teaching experience within a secondary school setting (preferred but not essential).
4. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire students.
5. Passion for creativity and fostering a love for Art & Design in young learners.
6. Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
7. Work in a supportive and inclusive school environment.
