In fact, it’s a big team effort and it’s why our Collections Assistant are so important. Hours: 27.25 hours a week. The collections assistant role has a 3 week rolling rota. The hours are split over 5 days a week and you would work 1 in 3 weekends. Working hours on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are 8:30-13:30, Wednesdays are 08:30-16:15. Saturdays and Sundays, when worked, are 08:30-13:30. The Thursday before and the Tuesday after are taken off in lieu of the weekend days. What it's like to work here More than your average National Trust site, Wimpole combines Hall, Gardens, Parkland and Farm in an amazing, complete working estate. Working in Wimpole’s Collections & House team means looking after not only the significant collection in the Hall, but also items spread across the whole estate. We are looking for someone who is excited to get involved in all aspects of collections care, from daily conservation cleaning to inventory checks, and take pride in looking after such a special place. You’ll be one of a team of eight collections staff led by the Senior Collections & House Manager. Reporting to the Senior Collections & House Officer, you will work closely with three other Collections Assistants, as well as three Collections & House Officers and collections volunteers. What you'll be doing As a Collections Assistant, you’ll be working with a great housekeeping team in an incredible place, helping with the day-to-day cleaning and care of the collections. No detail will go unnoticed, and you’ll keep a keen eye on everything from the environmental conditions in a room, to signs of wear and tear. You’ll keep accurate records too. In this visitor facing role, we’d love you to talk to visitors about the work you’re doing, and the collections we have.
