Assistant Tax Manager
£44,000 - £48,000 Plus Great Benefits

A well-established and successful firm of Chartered Accountants seeks an experienced Corporate Tax person to join their growing team. The firm is known for their regular outstanding service to clients and offers a fantastic working environment.

You will be involved in providing high quality corporation tax compliance and advice to a portfolio of UK companies and overseas businesses.
Reporting directly to the Head of Direct Taxes, you’ll spend your time dealing with corporation tax compliance, training junior team members, dealing with ad-hoc technical questions and researching tax legislation.
They provide advice in areas such as:
1. Review of group loss relief positions
2. Associated companies review and impact
3. CT quarterly instalments
4. Capital allowance claims
5. Processing R&D claims
6. Advice on tax planning opportunities, tax disputes and penalty appeals
In addition, there will be the opportunity to learn more about:
1. Corporate residence issues and permanent establishments
2. Transfer pricing, transaction and financial arrangements
3. Tax input for group restructuring and tax clearance applications
For candidates with a broad direct taxes knowledge and experience, there will be the opportunity to assist with personal tax and P11d compliance and advisory work on an ad-hoc basis.
WORKING HOURS
Full-time working hours are 37.5 hours per week, excluding meal breaks. Part-time and family friendly working hours, which are flexible across the week, are offered.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Mentoring junior team members, providing coaching and performance feedback
2. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
3. Staying up-to-date with relevant tax legislation and sharing knowledge with the team
Other skills and abilities
1. Strong technical knowledge of corporation tax legislation
2. Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
3. Ability to review technical guidance and legislation to problem solve
4. Willingness to learn and expand knowledge base
5. Happy juggling multiple tasks and working to deadlines
6. Ability to identify issues and find solutions
