The West London NHS Trust is recruiting a Clerk of Works (Building) to join its Major Capital Projects Team.
The Major Capital Projects Team is responsible for the overall programme delivery of the Trust’s projects. The Team comprises of dedicated industry and NHS professionals who are responsible for all aspects of project management from business case planning through to completion of works and managing all aspects of stakeholder engagement, governance, design, procurement, cost management, contracts and the construction, refurbishment or fit-out stages of works.
We are seeking an experienced Clerk of Works with in-depth knowledge of construction and building regulations, standards and legislation, ideally within a healthcare setting and be familiar with NHS capital project frameworks. The post holder must have a strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and health and safety practices, with excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills. They will be involved in multiple high value projects.
The Clerk of Works will play a vital role in delivering modern facilities which will help to promote effective care for patients.
As part of the Major Capital Projects team, the post holder will play a vital role in the delivery of multiple complex major capital projects whether new builds, refurbishments, or renovations. They will be responsible for the delivery of a consistently high standard of quality control, safety and compliance on all major capital projects.
The post holder will work closely with the Capital Team Project Managers and other professions and will assist in taking each project through the RIBA plan of work stages 0-5.
The post holder will be responsible for the due-diligence and compliance checks throughout the design and construction stages and will need to constantly monitor and report on all technical stages both in report forms and in meetings.
This is a leadership positil which requires a highly organised and self-motivated individual to plan and deliver their duties. The post holder will be required to travel between projects which are located in Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, Southall and Crowthorne in Berkshire.
