Trainee Contracts Manager - Leicester

The Role
This exciting opportunity offers the chance to be trained in all aspects of project managing major painting and decorating contracts. This includes customer liaison, surveying, estimating, cost control and managing projects from initial enquiry through to completion and final account agreement.
Your Development
You will be given support by a mentor to help you to develop in the role of Trainee Contracts Manager. You’ll be given the opportunity to train alongside practical experience, dealing with the “hands on” running of projects in a busy contracting office. We would encourage you to get further qualifications which could involve going to university.
As you progress you will have the opportunity to manage your own jobs and be responsible for developing your own customer base. If you are successful in the role, there would be lots of opportunities to progress within the company.

Essential Criteria
The role of Trainee Contracts Manager would suit someone looking to build a long term career. We are not expecting you to come with much experience as we provide full support and training to allow you to learn the skills needed for the role. More important than your academic qualifications will be your commitment to succeed, an ability to put the needs of the customer first and a positive approach to continuous learning. We do ask that you have the following skills and qualifications:
1. 5 GCSEs Grades A*-C including English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent)
2. A commitment to developing a career in project management
3. A passion for delivering the highest quality customer service
4. Emotional and intellectual ability to respond to customers’ needs
5. Good written and verbal communication skills
6. Good spatial and numerical ability
7. Competence in using Microsoft Office
8. Ability to show initiative and to work independently
9. Ability to learn about all aspects of the business quickly
Desirable Criteria
1. Some work experience or training
2. AS or A2 Level or construction-related qualification
3. Full driving licence

Reward Package
The initial salary will reflect the fact that this is a trainee post with a high level of support and input needed for your development. You will have the prospect of higher salary, performance related bonus and company car as you progress within the team. The exact salary will depend on qualifications already obtained and relevant previous experience.
