Are you a talented cook with a passion for creating delicious and nutritious meals? Do you have experience working in schools and residential units or similar settings? We are seeking dedicated Cooks and Chefs to join our team in Birmingham. You will play a crucial role in providing well-balanced and appetizing meals to students and residents in various locations across the West Midlands.
Current roles available in:
1. Smethwick
2. Stirchley
3. Edgbaston
4. Longbridge
5. Solihull
Working Hours:
1. Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
2. Monday to Sunday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
3. On Rota, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Immediate start (Once Enhanced DBS has been received)
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and prepare daily breakfast, lunch, and snacks for students and residents, following menu and dietary guidelines.
2. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to all safety and hygiene regulations.
3. Order and manage food supplies to ensure availability of fresh and high-quality ingredients.
4. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
5. Adapt menus to accommodate special dietary needs and allergies.
6. Ensure proper maintenance of kitchen equipment and report any issues for repair.
7. Comply with health and safety regulations and food handling standards.
Qualifications:
1. Previous experience as a cook in a school, care home, cafeteria, or similar setting is preferred.
2. Knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
3. Familiarity with dietary restrictions and allergen management.
4. Food hygiene and safety certification is a plus.
5. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
