• To have a comprehensive knowledge of general radiography, CT and MRI Imaging.
• To perform a range of diagnostic imaging procedures to agreed professional standards incorporating the College of Radiographers and departmental guidelines.
• To undertake IV cannulation after completion of an accredited course.
• To supervise, assist and train student radiographers and rotating radiographic staff
• To participate in a shift rota/extended day as required to provide Imaging services for an extended working day / week which includes out of hours service.

Clinical Responsibilities
• To undertake a wide range of diagnostic imaging examinations in MRI and CT, adhering to departmental protocols.
• The post holder will demonstrate a high level of theoretical and technical skill and be able to adapt MRI and CT techniques to suit patient capabilities.
• To be able to assess and evaluate diagnostic images and take responsibility for ensuring optimum image quality within MRI and CT.
• To interpret clinical history and patient information correctly to ensure that the instructions for examinations are matched to the needs of the patient.
• To participate in the extended working day/week rota as required to meet the needs of service users.
• To be always accountable for own professional actions.
• To comply with MRI safety procedures and guidance, demonstrating a high level of knowledge of the bio-effects and risk management procedures.
• To comply with procedures and protocols under IR(ME)R and IRR.
• To act as an Operator under IR(ME)R.
• To ensure that radiation doses to patients are kept as low as reasonably practicable under IRR.
