Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key Scottish sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness., As a Senior Technical Specialist, you will design, maintain, and optimize operational technology systems, ensuring seamless integration with IT infrastructure while safeguarding critical processes. You'll be at the forefront of keeping systems secure, reliable, and efficient.,
* Supports OT Infrastructure Manager in the effective running of the critical infrastructure that supports Operational Technology for SSEN Transmission.
* Designs and delivers key change projects that enable the scaling and improve the resilience of the overall OT Infrastructure estate.
* Responsible for support of a diverse range of infrastructure services - from centralised server rooms to solutions deployed at operational sub-stations and third party managed hosted solutions.
* Manages a diverse range of third parties and stakeholders in order to achieve the stated operational objectives of SSEN Transmission.
* Contributes to the production and implementation of an overall Infrastructure Modernisation roadmap for SSEN Transmission in collaboration with Group Technology Services colleagues.
Hands on experience of managing the support, development and delivery of highly resilient, critical on-premise infrastructure. OT experience would be preferred but not necessary assuming experience of operating other critical, highly resilient infrastructure.
* Ability to manage multiple competing demands for infrastructure capacity and resources from a number of Change Programmes.
* Experience of transitioning workloads from on-premise infrastructure to a variety of modern infrastructure technologies - experience with AWS would be highly beneficial.
* Understanding of industry standard service management such as ITIL or equivalent.
* Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and third parties including Projects and Suppliers to achieve the outcomes required of this infrastructure estate.
