Position Profile
The Financial Reporting & Planning Analyst will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing valuable insights to senior stakeholders. This role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret financial data to drive business performance and strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with operations and other non-finance departments, fostering cross-functional collaboration to enhance overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare and deliver accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
2. Develop and maintain robust financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
3. Conduct variance analysis, identifying trends and providing actionable insights to enhance financial performance.
4. Assist in the preparation of budgets and periodic reforecasts, collaborating with key business units and operational teams.
5. Partner with operations and other non-finance departments to align financial plans with business objectives and improve decision-making.
6. Support senior leadership by providing detailed financial analysis, scenario planning, and decision-making support.
7. Ensure financial data integrity by implementing and maintaining best practices in reporting processes.
8. Contribute to process improvement initiatives, enhancing efficiency in financial reporting and planning.
9. Assist in month-end and year-end reporting activities, liaising with auditors and other key stakeholders where necessary.
Person Profile
1. Qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA) with a background in financial reporting and planning.
2. Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
3. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and communicate financial data effectively.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across different functions and engage with stakeholders.
5. Commercial awareness and problem-solving ability, contributing to strategic decision-making.
6. Proficiency in Excel and experience with financial modelling techniques.
7. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
8. Experience with financial systems and reporting tools is advantageous but not essential.
