Salary Up to £30,000 DOE We are looking for a Communications Executive to support the Head of Communications & PR on all corporate communications matters, with special responsibilities for writing press releases, editing the group website, managing the company’s group corporate social media accounts, and supporting PR campaigns, crisis communications, media enquiries and media monitoring. This is a varied role in a small and busy team, working at group level across all Stagecoach operating companies. The role is based from our Stockport offices and there may be a requirement for ad hoc travel in the UK. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with great attention to detail, good copywriting skills and an ability to work independently. Principal Accountabilities Responding to media enquiries and writing, clearing, and issuing statements and press releases. Writing proactive and reactive press releases. Maintaining relationships with journalists and stakeholders. Briefing and preparing colleagues for media interviews and advising on communications issues. Supporting the Senior Corporate Communications Manager on the delivery of Stagecoach’s Charity Committee objectives. Assisting the team with the development and delivery of the communications strategy Assisting with media photo calls and launch events. Working collaboratively across different functions and operating companies to ensure timely proactive communications. Person Requirements – Qualifications, Experience & Competencies Stakeholder Management: previous experience of managing multiple senior stakeholders within a corporate function with business-wide impact. Excellent oral and written skills with the attention to key details. Experience working in a press office or similar busy news environment. Educated to at least HND level or equivalent experience. Strong track record of working and building relationships with the media. Ability to understand complex issues and translating it into engaging and effective communications. Ability to communicate confidently at all levels. Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Must always respect confidentiality.
