Job summary Matron - Perioperative Services The Matron will be a significantly autonomous professional clinical manager, responsible to the Trust for the clinical leadership of Perioperative Services (Preoperative Assessment Unit, Theatres, Day Surgery and Surgical Short Stay Unit). The post holder will have joint strategic responsibility with the Divisional Director of Nursing, Divisional Director and Associate Medical Director to ensure business plans, budgets, workforce and staff development are in place to deliver quality of service for the division and the Trust. Main duties of the job The Matron will be an expert practitioner who will advise, work alongside and supervise clinical staff within Perioperative Services in order to support and develop individuals in their day-to-day practice with a focus on the needs of patients and staff. Recognised management qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience Educated to level.
