Altus Partners is delighted to be partnered with an esteemed investment and retirement platform in the search for a Group Finance Manager in a newly created opportunity to support growth and global acquisitions. This will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape over the next 12 months and drive finance transformation as the business gets ready for the next transaction. The opportunity will be fast moving and highly acquisitive, supporting the Head of Finance with technical accounting and regulatory reporting.
As the Group Finance Manager, you'll collaborate closely with the Head of Finance and Group CFO and other senior management to oversee the financial operations of a complex business structure and diverse portfolio. This will also be a key point of contact for the large-cap financial sponsors, regulators and senior internal stakeholders. Your strategic insight and technical accounting expertise will be instrumental in driving the company's financial performance, ensuring compliance, and identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency.
This will be based in Bromley 2-3days a week (Hybrid).
Key Responsibilities:
* Implementation & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with IFRS 17 requirements
* Provide expert guidance on the impact of new accounting standards, working with senior leadership and external auditors.
* Technical Accounting: Interpret and apply IFRS 17 principles to financial statements, including contract classification, measurement models, and risk adjustment.
* Financial Statement Preparation: Oversee IFRS compliant financial reporting, ensuring accurate presentation of insurance liabilities and revenue recognition.
* Finance Transformation: Drive process improvements in financial reporting, leveraging automation and data analytics.
* Budgeting & Forecasting: Support business planning and capital allocation decisions
* Lead improvements in data quality and reporting systems, ensuring finance has reliable data for decision-making.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a senior financial role within the finance services/insurance industry
* Experience as Senior Accountant or Manager level role in-house or straight from practice
* Candidates with solid understanding of IFRS 17 and Solvency II
* Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
* Solid grasp of financial analysis, forecasting, and risk management.
* Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA or Chartered Accountant)
