Ebbsfleet Academy has a rare and exciting opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Literacy) to join our highly collaborative and supportive team. Our teaching support team is pivotal to our success in the classroom and provides a great deal of support for our teachers, and this position for an HLTA will strengthen the English team even further with their knowledge, experience and additional support that they can provide our teaching staff with. Our successful candidate will be able to establish strong working relationships with staff and students alike, be able to work as part of a team and will be a reliable and excellent communicator.
Our newly appointed HLTA will be passionate about improving students' learning and development in Literacy and should be proactive, and communicate well with students and teachers alike to ensure that optimum learning takes place within the class. To be considered for the role, you will need to meet the following requirements;
Educated to at least Level 2 Maths and English, but ideally educated to A-Level or Degree Level
Previous experience of working with children/young people, with a real interest in working with this age range
Previous experience of working with children/young people with special educational needs
A commitment to motivate and inspire young people, supporting them to overcome any barriers
Good ICT skills and practice
You will be committed to personal learning and development, and have a sincere commitment to sharing our long-term aims and drive
This is a permanent opportunity offering an actual salary £23,006 per annum (£26,079 full-time equivalent) based on 37 hours per week, Term Time + 2 weeks of inset. Working hours of this role will be Monday to Thursday, 8.00am - 4.00pm and Friday 8.00am - 3.30pm with a 30 minute break each day.
