The Opportunity
Due to continuing project expansion, an exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Cost Engineer to review and drive cost reporting on a huge £1.6bn nuclear new build project.
The £1.6Bn Clyde Infrastructure Programme; comprises of new building facilities and refurbishment to help support current and future operations on HMNB Clyde over the next 15 years. The programme of work is part of Government Major Programmes & Projects and is considered a top 100 government programme.
The role
As a Cost Engineer, you will be responsible for working with the Project manager to provide informed forecasts and prepare the project for month-end reporting.
You will need to have Security Clearance or be willing to attain this.
Estimated Duration- 12 months
This role has been deemed inside of IR35
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Work with the Project Manager(s) to provide informed forecasts for the Project (for the Financial Year and Project Lifecycle).
Collaborate with the Project Planner to ensure forecasts are informed and aligned to the programme.
Review and Track Costs and Forecasts to ensure and demonstrate continued affordability.
Produce Cost Reporting Outputs in a timely manner for month-end reporting, inputting into all relevant internal financial systems.
Attending monthly supplier Project Meetings and carrying out associated contract administration as required, via CEMAR.
Raise purchase and contract requisitions and occasionally receive invoices within the relevant internal system.
Assessment and checking on invoices and valuations and providing advice to PM to resolve invoice queries.
Monitoring cost against change and attendance of the change control/EWN meetings.You will have the following qualifications and experience
Ability to communicate cost and performance information to peers/project managers/stakeholders in a way that is understood by all.
Detailed working knowledge of cost engineering functions, cost control and cost analysis.
Experience of working in a wider Project Controls team, understanding the importance of aligning the cost forecast to the Programme.
Detail-oriented and organised, with experience of identifying, analysing, and solving problems.
Good presentation and reporting skills.
Educated to diploma level.
Ideally 2+ years’ experience estimating.It's great if you also have the following
Diploma level educated.
Relevant Professional Membership or working towards.
CEMAR experience
