Overview
We are looking to bolster our commercial team within our UK North business unit with the appointment of a Commercial Manager. The Commercial Lead will take full commercial responsibility and ownership for the project, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure a successful project is delivered, while maintaining relationships and maximising commercial returns and managing risk.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead management of change for York Central (£130m scheme), managing change from inception to agreement with the Employer.
* All key change will be managed directly by this role.
* Management of QS team for completing day to day / small change.
* Responsible for value reporting within the monthly reviews, liaising closely with the commercial lead for the scheme and the wider team.
Additional Responsibilities
* Liaise with the customer, his representatives and other 3rd parties on commercial issues, including the agreement of additional monies.
* Cost and value management for project, ensuring appropriate systems and procedures are in place.
* Financial reporting for project.
* Change management for project: record change and allocate responsibility, evaluate/recover any change that is not Sisks's risk/liability (including recovery from 3rd parties).
* Risk and opportunity management for project: management (with operations team) of known and newly identified risks and opportunities for best project return as well as identification and implementation of mitigation measures.
* Manage commercial team to ensure delivery of key responsibilities and develop their knowledge.
Experience
* Management of schemes in Highways / Heavy Civil Engineering.
* NEC Option A & C experience.
Qualifications
* Membership of a Professional Institution - such as SCSI or RICS.
* Behavioural Based Safety (BBS).
* Minor project work - building and civils.
* Work winning.
* Reviewing T&C's.
* Managing and reporting on a portfolio of work.
* Developing a team.
