Vickers 2 is seeking a highly motivated Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to lead an exceptional team and drive outstanding patient care.

Main duties of the job
As the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the clinical and operational management of the ward. You will lead a team of dedicated healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care. Key responsibilities include:
* Providing strong leadership and mentorship to the nursing team.
* Managing staff rotas, appraisals, and professional development.
* Ensuring compliance with clinical governance and Trust standards.
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
* Driving quality improvement initiatives and championing best practices in diabetes and endocrine care.
What We're Looking For:
* Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.
* Significant experience in acute care, ideally within diabetes or endocrine specialties.
* Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
* Strong organisational, communication, and decision-making abilities.
* A commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development.

Person Specification
Education & Qualifications
* RGN Level one
* NMC registered
* Recognised teaching and assessing qualification and evidence of teaching ability
* First degree or evidence of working towards one (demonstrating graduate attributes)
Experience
* Extensive post registration experience in an acute NHS setting.
* Relevant experience at junior sister/charge nurse level.
* Ability to lead, motivate and develop a professional team.
* Specialist training relevant to working in an acute medical setting.
Skills and knowledge
* Evidence of relevant post basic training and continuous professional development.
* Ability to communicate effectively including active listening, writing, and verbally, with individuals on a one-to-one basis, with groups, and the Multidisciplinary Team.
* Good understanding of the national strategic context of the NHS.
* Excellent performance management skills.
* Highly developed leadership skills with excellent interpersonal skills - ability to form positive relationships at all levels.
* Ability to manage own and others' complex workloads under pressure and prioritise to meet deadlines.
* Persuasion and influencing skills - ability to present ideas and proposals effectively.
* Ability to work flexibly to cover the needs of the service including bleep cover evenings and weekends.

Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 a year pro rata for part-time staff.
