Purchasing Assistant
The Norwich Bioscience Institutes Partnership (NBIP) has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant to join their busy Purchasing department.
Background:
The Norwich Bioscience Institutes are a cluster of internationally renowned research organisations, working to tackle major challenges of the 21st Century – the sustainability of our environment, our food supplies and healthy ageing. The NBI Partnership provides high quality, non-scientific support services for the diverse community of staff, students and visiting workers at the Institutes (the Earlham Institute, John Innes Centre, The Sainsbury Laboratory and Quadram Institute Bioscience) and for the NBI Partnership. The role:
The Purchasing Assistant will be an integral member of a small, efficient team, reporting directly to the Purchasing and Stores Manager. In this role, they will handle purchase requests and convert them into purchase orders for all Institutes on the Norwich Research Park, using phone, email, and online platforms.
The ideal candidate:
The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service while supporting scientists with their purchasing needs. Additionally, the role will include a range of administrative duties, such as filing, updating the supplier database, assisting with bi-annual stocktakes, and maintaining intranet pages.
Candidates should possess good knowledge of purchasing procedures and processes, and recent experience of working in a purchasing environment.
Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Additional information:
Salary on appointment will be within the range £23,493 to £25,400 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time post offered on an indefinite basis.
