The Group’s Agribusiness Division (Lakeland Agri) operates a state-of-the-art Animal Feed Manufacturing Facility and is a leading and innovative provider of the highest quality feeds and agricultural inputs to dairy, beef, and sheep farmers across the north and south of Ireland.
Applications are invited for the above position to work as part of our Engineering Team in our Newtownards office.
The Role
Reporting to the Site Services Manager, the Site Services Engineer role will manage the day-to-day operation of core site services including the wastewater treatment plant, maximising efficiency and minimising downtime at least overall cost. The person will monitor, report and deliver improvements on key performance targets for services availability and energy reduction as well as ensuring completion of all planned/reactive maintenance in accordance with all regulatory and food safety/customer requirements.
The Site Services Engineer will fully embrace the principle of continuous improvement within the Operational Excellence and Asset Care Programmes to achieve site objectives.
The Person
The role requires a candidate to have 5 GCSE’s including at least grade C in English and Maths (or equivalent). A recognised apprenticeship (educated to Level 3 Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering with substantial post qualification experience in a maintenance environment) is also required.
It would be advantageous if the candidate holds an HNC, HND or degree level education in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in site mechanical and electrical services; steam generation, water services, CHP, Cooling Towers, HVAC, fire system, WWTP (daf), LV electrical systems and compressed air.
It would be desirable that the candidate has experience within food manufacturing. It would further be desirable if the candidate has L8 legionella training and IOSH/NEBOSH safety qualification. Supervisory experience of contractors is essential.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and build relationships as part of a team. The successful candidate will also be computer literate with Microsoft Office. Experience. Candidates who have used an asset maintenance system would be desirable.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to work with minimum supervision using their own initiative and have a positive and resilient approach to problem solving, team working, and continuous improvement.
