Main duties of the job Children's Emergency Department Junior Sister You Will Be Expected To To assist the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse in leading and developing the clinical nursing and Allied health Professionals team/ Emergency Department over a 24 hour period, ensuring the delivery of the highest quality evidence based patient care. To demonstrate clinical expertise in children’s Emergency care, acting as a role model within the Emergency Department. To ensure that available resources are utilised effectively. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities To act as role model to nursing staff, demonstrating professional accountability and encouraging it in others. Ensure provision of excellent nursing care. Using specialist knowledge to supervise and support others in the emergency care of children and young people across the paediatric area, resuscitation room, major and minor areas of the department. To promote and encourage the development of a cohesive nursing team which works effectively across the Paediatric Assessment Unit and within the multidisciplinary team, with a common philosophy. To assess care needs of children and young people and develop a suitable care programme to be implemented by members of the nursing team. Utilize research findings as appropriate to adjust these care programmes. Specific to this role we are open to discussing flexibility in the hours that you work.
