The Opportunity
Our consultants are part of a pool of resources which are assigned to different projects, working for our more senior Project Managers and Project Directors. This gives you fantastic exposure and development opportunities, working alongside colleagues across the global team and the different specialist practice groups: upstream carbon management, gas & power, power renewables, downstream, petrochemicals, metals and mining.
You will input into a range of consulting projects, through the operation of sophisticated internal models and tools, developing new analysis and creating presentations and reports. You will extract and analyse data from internal and external sources such as databases, websites, industry interviews and Wood Mackenzie products.
You will maintain effective working relationships with colleagues across the business, from whom you can learn more about consulting and the sectors we operate in. You will support practice and business development by working with colleagues to create consulting project proposals and marketing offerings that can be taken to clients.
Our ideal candidate will have up to 2 years’ experience of working in an analytical and/or consulting role with knowledge of the energy sector. You should have a passion for delivering quality service to clients and thrive in a collaborative, commercial and client-centric environment. You have a desire to grow your capabilities and enjoy working as part of a project team where you can deepen your industry knowledge and consulting skills. If you are looking for a role where you can apply your skills and experience to a broad range of consulting projects and client situations, apply now!
You will have:
* An understanding of the energy sector, industry dynamics, commercial operations, business models and strategies
* Good analytical skills – you are comfortable with data and modelling
* Strong attention to detail
* Competent in using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint to run analysis and communicate messages to your audience
* Effective communication skills – you can deliver messages and explain complex or technical information in a coherent, authoritative, and engaging manner
* Strong interpersonal skills – you like working with people and can work well on a project team
* A curious and commercial mindset – you are keen to learn and understand things from a client’s point of view
* The ability to work autonomously, deliver to a deadline and adapt to changes
* Ideally experience in a consulting environment in the energy sector, perhaps with experience in valuation, corporate strategy, market entry strategy and financial modelling
