Sick of big law firm culture and inflexibility, but not quality of work? We’ve been exclusively instructed by a forward-thinking, vibrant, specialist City construction/property boutique on two permanent Senior Associate level roles specialising in contentious and non-contentious construction.
The firm advises investors, developers, main contractors and sub-contractors on a range of property and construction issues. They boast a strong and distinct culture, one in which employees are valued, appreciated, and offered an actual work life balance, flexibility, and career progression. The firm operates with a hybrid working environment, and most employees work a combination of office based in London and remote working.
If you’re a Senior Associate from a larger firm, sick of big firm culture and politics, with high standards, good experience, a sense of humour (and you don’t take yourself too seriously), you’ll fit right in.
In order to be considered for one of these roles you will probably have:
1. At least 8 years’+ PQE as either a contentious or non-contentious construction Lawyer;
2. A detailed understanding of construction and engineering contracts such as JCT, NEC, FIDIC, IChemE and Logic, and/or if appropriate, how to resolve disputes when they go wrong;
3. Experience in providing pragmatic legal advice to the construction sector; and
4. (where necessary/appropriate) experience representing clients in adjudications, mediations and in litigation.
As well as the above legal skills, you’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, strong time management skills (the ability to operate with urgency at pace when required), as well as strong skills in IT, matter finance, business development and team working.
