Job Purpose
To interpret all network changes and geographic information system (GIS) updates received from a variety of sources and enter an accurate representation of these within the company GIS.
Our team is responsible for the corporate GIS. GIS is a Geographic Information System which stores the data associated with all our water and wastewater underground assets and any other spatial datasets. The team are responsible for the updating and maintenance of these underground assets, as set out in the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991. We also update and maintain a number of other spatial datasets including addresses, water and wastewater boundaries, wayleaves and easement.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* Update GIS systems with network changes from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and resolving issues in collaboration with originators. Maintain the integrity of the data and comply with agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
* Have a thorough understanding of systems like INS/ICS Salesforce, SAP, SharePoint, and ProjectWise. Assist in tracking workloads and contribute to system changes by providing testing support.
* Provide training and support to both new and existing staff members. Participate in process improvement discussions and focal groups as needed.
* Identify opportunities for improvement and support audits, projects, and meetings. Assist with ad-hoc tasks that align with the section's goals and obligations.
* Effectively manage workloads to ensure timely updates, while maintaining GIS accuracy and reliability.
* The successful candidate will be responsible for the updating and maintenance of these underground assets, as set out in the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
