Job Location: Derby Job Type: Full-time/Part-time/Contract considered Key Responsibilities: Preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. Preparation of VAT returns Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations. Communicate with clients advising of liabilities and general queries as and when required. Possibility of VAT management including review of work of other members of staff’s work. Skills & Qualifications: Education: Ideally a minimum of AAT qualifications, but will consider qualified by experience if in the role for a long period of time. Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in a practice setting. Technical Skills: Proficient in bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero ETC.). Strong Excel skills. Experience of Taxcalc would be beneficial Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills. Attention to Detail: Ability to handle complex and detailed financial data accurately. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various departments. Problem-solving: Ability to analyse and resolve financial discrepancies and issues
