Senior Mechanical Engineer - Gas Projects

We have extensive experience in offshore and onshore facilities; specialising in asset management services throughout all life cycle phases from consulting, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, operations, maintenance, and decommissioning.
Job Responsibilities:
* Reporting to the Mechanical & Piping Engineering Manager, responsible for Mechanical and piping engineering and design within multi-discipline EPCM or EPC projects.
* Projects will range from Concept Design to Execution Designs.
* Deliver projects in various sectors (Oil & Gas, Energy, Utilities, Nuclear, Chemicals, and Food), including both small and large projects.
* Responsible for quality in engineering designs and projects, including checking and approval of design deliverables.
* Ensure designs comply with CDM regulations and other relevant regulations and standards.
* Complete the mechanical and piping design within the defined scope, time, and budget, including change control and consistency with other disciplines.
* Participate in internal and external design reviews and ensure design acceptance by the client.
* Make independent decisions on issues, providing expert technical support within the mechanical engineering team.
Your Profile:
If you have the following profile, we look forward to meeting you:
* Hold a qualification in Mechanical Engineering, preferably to Degree level (BEng or MEng).
* Demonstrable experience (5 years plus) as Lead / Senior / Principal Engineer in multi-discipline engineering projects.
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) with IMechE or equivalent institute (Preferable).
* Working knowledge of general engineering standards and specifications (Essential) and IGEM standards and specifications (Preferred).
* Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices in design.
* Understanding of other disciplines (Civil, Structural, EC&I and Process).
* Good knowledge and experience in producing mechanical specifications, basis of design, scopes of work, calculations, drawings, 3D models, schedules, design risk assessments, and compliance assessments.
* Experience with piping design codes to ASME and BS EN standards.
* Experience with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations (PESR).
* Result-oriented; satisfaction only after design acceptance by the client.
* Ability to plan and organise activities, understanding dependencies within mechanical and other disciplines.
* Familiarity with main mechanical design packages such as AutoCAD, Plant3D, E3D, Caesar II.
* Understanding of change control procedures.
* Able to develop and effectively present design packages that meet project scope.
* Capable of preparing for chairing design review meetings.
* Able to meet UK security clearance requirements (Preferable).
