Due to an expansion within our service, the Combined Triage Assessment Unit (CTAU) is looking for compassionate, forward-thinking, dynamic, and visible leaders to join the team as Charge Nurse/Sisters. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic to drive change and improvement in an acute setting, leading the way with advances in oncology care.
You will be expected to ensure that professionalism and high standards of care are upheld at all times.
CTAU is an acute assessment unit caring for Oncology and Haematology patients with complications arising from their treatment or diagnosis. Our staff telephone triage patients using the UKONS triage tool to determine if they need to bring them into CTAU. We also accept patients from the Combined Day Unit, Radiotherapy, and Specialist Outpatients.
Applicants must hold a current NMC registration and be able to evidence demonstrable post-registration experience. Leadership experience is preferable; however, this will be an ongoing developmental area of the role. Current knowledge and experience in an acute setting is required, preferably with knowledge of Oncology and Haematology.
We are looking for a compassionate individual who can demonstrate excellent communication skills and is committed to driving change forward. Applicants will need to be visible, reliable, and flexible leaders ensuring high standards of care are given at all times.
Applicants would preferably be competent in the UKONS triage tool; however, this is not essential as training and support will be given. The successful candidate will be able to deputise for the Senior Sister in their absence. They will be responsible for supporting the overall running of the unit, including completing audits, improvement works, staff support, and rostering.
They will be able to build professional working relationships and provide supportive management to the team. This role will involve working both days and nights.
Closing date of applications: 10 February 2025
