Salary: £25,467 per annum (pro-rata)
Contract/Hours: Permanent Part Time - 20 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 1pm till 5pm)

About the role
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant who is passionate about the importance of nutrition in an early years setting, being part of the nursery team, you will adhere to our healthy eating menus, assisting the Chef to plan, order and prepare meals for children ensuring that hygiene standards are adhered to.
What you'll be doing
In the role of Kitchen Assistant, you'll be:
* Planning healthy meals, that are nutritious, varied and tasty, taking into account the children's dietary and cultural requirements.
* Taking full responsibility for compliance with all relevant food hygiene and Health & Safety requirements.
* Ensuring that all stock is order and replenished as needed, that food is correctly stored in line with guidance and that stock is rotated and all equipment is kept clean and in good repair.
* Keeping waste to a minimum, ensuring our impact on the environment is as minimal as it can be, and costs are kept low.
* Always following latest legislation in relation to food and food hygiene and taking part in all necessary and required training as needed.
* Taking responsibility for the kitchen being kept clean including dishwashing duties daily after every meal/snack time.
What we need from you
In the role of Kitchen Assistant, we're ideally looking for someone who has:
* A Basic food hygiene certificate.
* A passion for cooking and creating healthy balanced meals.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Experience in a similar role working in a catering environment would be advantageous.
