We are looking for a highly motivated and committed individual, who works collaboratively, to join our successful Club with a demonstrable and impressive CV in competitive swimming. This is a leadership role that will also encompass responsibilities across the Club with hours worked at sessions held during early mornings, evenings, and weekends and time away at regional and national competitions.
Applicants should hold a Swim England Senior Swimming Coach Certificate/Level 3 Coaching Award. A personal trainer qualification would be advantageous, but not essential.
The successful candidate will:
* Be a strong team leader and player who is highly self-motivated
* Be someone who works collaboratively with athletes, parents, other coaches and the committee
* Manage, support and develop a team of coaches and teachers
* Have the ability to identify, nurture, support and develop swimming talent
* Demonstrate their ability to deliver a world-class training programme, for swimmers with a variety of abilities and aspirations
* Develop the club as a whole, working closely with the committee
* Work with swimmers, coaches, the committee and parents to sustain a positive environment and club ethos.
* Attend targeted competitions and develop and maintain our club competition calendar
* Liaise with parents and the club committee on matters relating to swimmers and club development.
The Club has achieved longstanding success, with many national champions, GB Para swimmers, two Olympians and one Paralympian (Paris, 2024). We are a friendly and inclusive club, with high aspirations to compete at national and international levels. We have access to a range of pools and we work collaboratively with local schools.
This year Monson was top of both the medal and points table at the Kent County Championships and top of the medal table at the south east regional championships in 2024 and secured an amazing 8th place at the 2024 National Arena Swimming League Cup Final, having been at the B finals for the preceding years.
Monson is a SwimMark accredited club with more than 250 members across the Learn to Swim programme, swimming squads and water polo sections. We currently have 27 swimmers who will be competing at the British and English Summer Nationals this year, and we need someone who can continue to develop our talented athletes.
