Are you a qualified social care professional who is experienced in supporting Children and Young People reach their full potential? We are looking for caring individuals who share Quarriers values to join our team as an Intensive Support Practitioner within Quarriers Village.
Your new opportunity
Quarriers is currently recruiting both Full-Time and Part-Time Intensive Support Practitioners to join our Rivendell children and young people service. This is a registered care home for children and is set in an idyllic location in Quarriers Village. Rivendell is a 24/7 service that currently supports 3 children who have different support needs such as autism & ADHD. Some of the children are non-verbal and have complex sensory needs and have experienced trauma in their young lives. At Rivendell, we adapt the support for each individual child to ensure a safe, calm and nurturing environment is maintained for all, where children can thrive and live their best lives.
As an Intensive Support Practitioner, you will work as a team or at times on a 1:2:1 basis with each child. You will be a skilled professional with the ability to use your expertise and adapt support to meet the needs of each individual. Some of the children have complex trauma and can display distressed behaviour and you will be required to offer behavioural support and care when needed during the nighttime shift. You will also be responsible for ensuring the safety, health & wellbeing of each child is supported and everyone is kept safe while on nightshift duty. Tasks while on shift will also include some general household tasks.
Working pattern: We are recruiting both Full-Time & Part-Time Staff working between 15 - 37.5 hours per week:
Early 7am - 2:30pm
Late 2pm - 9:30pm
Nightshift - 9:15pm - 8:15am
11am - 6pm (for activity days)
(includes some weekend working on a rota basis)
What you will need to be considered
* Essential you hold an SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) and HNC. (Please note having both qualifications is a requirement; if you do not hold both, you must hold 1 and be prepared to work towards achieving the other within an agreed period)
* Experience and knowledge of working with children & families in a similar setting.
* Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written to support recording and reporting.
* Willing to develop and learn where required to support and adapt care based on individual needs.
* Ability to offer support to Children, Families and Young People including enabling rights and delivering person-centred care and trauma-informed approaches.
* Flexible and reliable.
* Due to the idyllic location of the service, a driver is desirable with access to their own transport.
