Business Development Manager Overview As a Business Development Manager for Solar Panels, you will play a key role in driving business growth and expanding our customer base. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, fostering strong relationships with clients, and ensuring the successful delivery of solar panel solutions. This role will involve working from our Wetherby office and visiting client sites to assess their needs and ensure the best solar energy solutions are offered. Key Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager role Sales and Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through research, networking, and lead generation. Develop and maintain strong relationships with both existing and prospective clients to secure long-term partnerships and repeat business. Present our solar solutions and services effectively to clients, tailoring proposals to their specific energy needs and goals. Client Engagement Conduct site visits to assess client energy requirements and recommend suitable solar panel solutions. Provide expert advice on solar energy systems, including system sizing, installation, and performance monitoring, ensuring clients’ satisfaction and successful project outcomes. Serve as a point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a seamless customer experience. Market Analysis Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and to refine business strategies. Collect and provide valuable feedback to improve product offerings and service delivery. Coordination and Reporting: Work closely with the operations and technical teams to ensure the timely and efficient execution of solar projects from start to finish. Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review, ensuring all targets are met and business goals are achieved. Key Skills and Experience Proven experience in business development, sales in the solar industry (MUST) Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients and stakeholders. Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, with a focus on closing sales and securing long-term contracts. Knowledge of solar energy systems, including panel installation, performance, and benefits, is advantageous but not essential; comprehensive training will be provided.
