Job Title: Technical Sales Specialist - Oil (North) Overall, Purpose of the role: The Technical Sales Specialist - Oil is responsible for driving sales growth and customer satisfaction within the motor oil product line by providing expert technical training and support to both branch colleagues and customers. This role focuses on expanding the customer base, increasing market share, and ensuring the successful promotion of oil products through technical expertise and targeted sales initiatives. Main Duties and Accountabilities: Sales Growth & Customer Acquisition: Proactively engage with new and existing customers to drive sales growth within the motor oil product category. Identify and target new business opportunities across existing and new sales channels, including dealerships, manufacturers, and re-sellers. Open new customer accounts and expand the branch's customer base. Technical Training & Support: Provide comprehensive technical training on motor oil products to branch colleagues, equipping them with the knowledge to effectively sell and support these products. Offer technical training sessions and workshops to customers, ensuring they have a deep understanding of the product offerings and applications. Serve as the primary point of contact for technical inquiries related to motor oil products. Market Share Expansion: Collaborate with the branch team to identify and target high-potential accounts using CRM data and local market knowledge. Partner with national accounts and supplier field sales teams to grow market share in the motor oil category through joint initiatives and targeted campaigns. Promote and drive sales of own brand motor oil products by identifying opportunities within the customer base. Digital Sales Channel Growth: Drive the adoption and usage of digital sales tools, such as parts finder apps, to enhance the customer experience and streamline the purchasing process. Work on the integration of digital platforms to support seamless sales transactions and customer engagement. Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other duties as required by the line manager, commensurate with the post. Demonstrate respect for colleagues, adhere to business standards and ethics, and support all teams in achieving group objectiv About You Essential: Proven experience in field sales or a similar role within the oil or automotive industry. Strong technical knowledge of motor oil products and applications. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to conduct training sessions. Dynamic, persuasive personality with strong negotiation skills. Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively. IT literate, particularly with Excel and PowerPoint. Full UK Driving Licence with a maximum of 6 points. Desirable: Experience in customer database management and customer analysis. Familiarity with electronic catalogues and digital sales tools.
