We are looking for someone naturally creative, who is able to think outside the box and provide innovative ideas consistently Your Key Responsibilities and Duties • Designing robust and elegant, user-focused products for manual, semi-automated or PLC control. • Creating 3D CAD models and 2D detail drawings of new parts, fabrications and assemblies. • Creating clear and accurate technical documentation necessary for the specification, manufacture, assembly, testing and support of machinery throughout product lifecycle. • Building prototypes in our engineering workshop. • Designing and conducting practical functional tests, reliability tests and user trials. • Investigating change requests using a thorough and methodical approach. • Continuous improvement of reliability and durability to support best in class warranty. • Providing engineering design support to the rest of the business. Qualifications/Skills/Experience • Degree educated in a relevant engineering discipline. • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role designing product or industrial equipment for small to medium production volumes. • Excellent 3D CAD skills & highly IT literate. • In depth understanding of draughting practice including tolerancing. • Sound knowledge of MRP, BOMs and product data management systems. • Familiar with design for assembly and design for serviceability. • Previous experience of designing for compliance requirements. • Analytical and logical problem solver. • Must work well within a team as well as unsupervised, showing initiative as required. • Excellent attention to detail and self-checking skills. • Enthusiastic and highly motivated with a positive, can-do attitude.
