We are looking for an Engineer to do public utility network and domestic mains water supply network engineering for our North East Franchise, mainly based in Sunderland. What does it entail? As a Mains Water Engineer, you will be independently completing mains water investigations, repairs and new installations on-site for our customers. You'll be responsible for caring for the customer on-site and providing temporary solutions to customers, so excellent customer care is vital - you'll need to confidently talk the customer through the works to leave them with reassurance and peace of mind. Customers will include commercial, industrial and domestic sites. Preferred experience: Leak detection (find and fix repairs through the use of listening stick, ground mic etc) Trenchless installation via moling (not essential) A logical approach to water mains investigation to establish ownership of supply pipe and liability based on the location of the leak 20mm to 100mm service laying including the creation of new 'point of entry' Use of CAT scanner in order to identify buried services and to trace/locate the existing water supply Significant knowledge of health and safety systems We'd love to hear from you if: You are great at caring for customers whilst completing on-site works You are confident in finding solutions and overcoming unforeseen challenges and communicating these to multi-agencies You take pride in the high standard of your work You are enthusiastic, self-motivated and like to take ownership You are loyal and committed and are looking for a long-term career What do we look for?
