Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Occupational Therapist seeking to develop their clinical experience and knowledge within the Community Learning Disability setting. The team covers across Knowsley and St Helens and is based at Willis House, Cumber Lane, Prescot.
You will be joining an established Multi Disciplinary Team made up of Nurses, Physiotherapists, Clinical Psychologists and Speech and Language Therapists, dedicated to providing high quality care to meet the needs of the Learning Disability population across Knowsley and St Helens.
The post holder will be a dynamic and enthusiastic practitioner that is able to work in an autonomous manner, using evidence-based principles to assess, develop treatment plans, implement and evaluate interventions for clients with Learning Disabilities.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will effectively manage a caseload of clients with complex needs as an autonomous practitioner. Clinical supervision and support will be provided by the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist.
The post holder will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with service users, carers, families, and the multidisciplinary team, following an evidence-based OT process. Responsibilities include providing high quality assessment, delivering treatment interventions plans, and evaluating outcomes for individuals with complex needs.

* Current HPC registration
Knowledge/Experience
* Previous experience in relevant health settings.
* Effective team working within a multi-agency framework.
* Experience using both group and individual treatment skills.
* Post graduate clinical experience within mental health services.
Skills
* Ability to utilise assessment skills and tools effectively.
* Ability to communicate in a variety of settings.
* Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
* Ability to network and influence decision making.
