The Opportunity
At Leonardo we are recruiting for a DSE & Ergonomics Assessor to join our Team in Edinburgh. There will also be some travel required to our Newcastle site.
The job is very varied and a wide range of skills is expected. Importantly, people skills and good communication are necessary.
* Provide help and support for employees completing the Cardinus risk assessment.
* Support and guide on various DSE and Ergonomic issues.
* Build relationships with key stakeholders across the sites, promoting the development of a positive culture and best practice.
* Contribute to the implementation, monitoring and measurement of the DSE process.
As the DSE & Ergonomics Assessor you will be required to:
* Monitor the completion of the training and risk assessment packages for each location.
* Supply a report to the management of their area of the training and risk assessments completed, Users still outstanding.
* Assess individual needs based on the answers given on the Risk Assessment.
* Arrange in-person or virtual DSE assessments with Users with discomfort issues & write up reports.
* Maintain an Excel spreadsheet of DSE assessments and status progress.
* Regularly run reports on PACE (Cardinus reporting system) on status of completion.
* Monitor auto emails generated by Cardinus and where necessary send approval emails to Users with Manager cc’d.
* Send regular updates to Managers with Cardinus risk-assessments outstanding for their team. Escalate to Senior Managers as and when required.
* Investigate alternative equipment and chairs for people with discomfort.
* Provide advice to Managers with regard to ergonomics.
* Provide ergonomic advice for office refurbishments and ergonomic equipment in production areas to reduce the likelihood of musculoskeletal injuries.
* Report electronically any incidents including near misses on Sphera.
* Respond and act upon any action assigned on Sphera with regard to ergonomics.
* Analyse ergonomic data available from all sources and use this to formulate ergonomic interventions and improvements.
* Work closely with People, Health & Wellbeing team, passing on referrals as appropriate.
* Maintain accurate notes, electronic records on restricted Sharedrive ensuring that information is managed in accordance with GDPR and patient confidentiality at all times.
* Attend HSE Reps meetings as & when required.
* Advise and participate in the business management system document reviews as required.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Proven track record of delivering DSE assessments, improvements and working within a HSE function.
* DSE Assessor training.
* NEBOSH General as a minimum.
* Formal ergonomic qualification would be an advantage.
* Self-starter/able to work on own initiative.
* Good at working with people at all levels.
* Computer literate, with good understanding of MS Office packages.
* Good analytical skills.
* Resilience, ability to work under pressure.
* Willingness to travel and work at other sites.
