We are recruiting for the exciting role of Sales Advisor to join the Farm Shop team at our Garden Centre in Esher. The role will support in the running of the Deli, Chilled food, Frozen food and Bakery departments.
What does the role involve?
We are seeking an individual who has a keen eye for detail and can deliver a first-class customer experience through sharing their own genuine passion for food to maximise sales.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide our customers with an exceptional level of service by assisting them in selecting products, answering questions, providing recommendations and samples.
2. Ensure Garsons merchandising and housekeeping standards of the department are maintained.
3. Ensure displays are innovative, practical, and maintained, and that these are refreshed on a regular basis.
4. Adhere to food safety practices and procedures, always maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment.
5. Operate deli and bakery equipment such as slicer, oven etc.
6. Order product using our retail management system.
7. Communicate effectively at all levels.
8. Carry out everyday duties such as advising customers; stock replenishment; stock taking; stock rotation; maintaining records; lifting and moving stock.
What skills and experience do you need?
1. Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable attitude.
2. Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures.
3. A genuine passion for food and a keen eye for detail.
4. Previous experience within a retail or culinary environment.
5. Competence and confidence to work with computers.
6. Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.
7. Ability to work on their own initiative.
Contract: This is a permanent, full-time role.
Hours: A fortnightly rota pattern of Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.10pm or 9.30am to 6.10pm with a contracted day off each week, plus working alternate weekends.
