Are you a passionate and dedicated medical professional looking to expand your clinical experience on Obstetrics and Gynaecology?
At North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, you will find the best opportunity to grow your career. We can offer you a fixed term Trust Grade Registrar post for 12 months starting in February 2024 based at Peterborough City Hospital.
You will have experience in and be able to manage common Obstetric problems, including failure to progress in labour, secondary arrest of labour, induction of Labour, PET, sepsis, APH and PPH.
This is a general Obstetrics and Gynaecology post, but we will give the more senior trainees the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge by acquiring advanced skills in an area which they feel needs upgrading, prior to formal application for consultant posts.
We are strongly committed to support your education and continuing professional development in an environment where your ideas and aspiration are valued. You will be assigned a Consultant mentor, and there may also, be the opportunity to ‘Act up’ as Consultant during daytime sessions.
We welcome applicants who have the skills and experience equating to at least the level of ST4, right up to applicants who have trained up to and who already may have their CCT.
You will participate in middle grade resident doctors on call rota along with other clinical activities according to current UK practice.
The posts will include a mixture of service and special interest. The special interests programme will be tailored to your individual needs for instance, if you are interested in Advanced Labour Ward practice then, there would be proportionally more LW sessions rostered for you.
There will be very close liaison with the rota Co-ordinators. If you choose surgical special interests, you would be allocated a number of theatre sessions.
Most clinics will be consultant supervised, but there may be the opportunity to have independent clinical sessions put on, by arrangement.
Although there is always a consultant resident on the delivery suite during the daytime and twilight shifts (until 2130), out of hours, you will be required to have clinical experience in and be competent to provide clinical service in obstetrics and gynaecology.
