We’re seeking a Group Health & Safety Manager to work closely with our operational, logistics and Head Office teams, offering expert guidance across our key sites in Huddersfield and Castle Donington and smaller satellite sites. As the Health & Safety specialist for the group, you will be instrumental in ensuring that we meet Health & Safety standards across our operations, logistics, and office divisions. Key Responsibilities: Ensure a safe workplace environment free from risk to health. Regularly review, update, and communicate all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Ensure the company complies with all legal requirements related to health, safety, and workplace welfare, including mandatory training and reporting. Complete and regularly review risk assessments for all work equipment and operations. Document, investigate, and implement improvements for all workplace accidents. Oversee safety inspections, fire drills, fire alarms, risk assessments, and lone working procedures. Ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities. Develop and manage a comprehensive Health & Safety training program across the company. Liaise with external consultants for training and safety services. Chair the Health & Safety Committee meetings, manage the agenda and ensure all agreed action points are completed within deadlines. Stay updated with all relevant Health, Safety & Welfare legislation and communicate necessary changes to the business. Proactively manage risk reduction activities across all operational areas. Administer and train first aid provisions, fire prevention, protection, and safety procedures. Skills & Requirements: NEBOSH Diploma and other relevant H&S qualifications Health and Safety experience within construction, manufacturing, and engineering. Full driving license Excellent communications skills and ability to work well with a wide range of people Drive and enthusiasm with the ability to promote a positive Health and Safety culture Commitment to continuous professional development Working knowledge of CDM/Asbestos/Working at height IT literature Strong written and verbal communication e.g. report writing, briefings, and presentation skills Able to work under pressure and deliver results to tight deadlines.
