This role supports delivery of 7 day specialist palliative care working at SASH. You will be required to work weekends to a rota.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinical nurse specialist to join an established Macmillan Specialist Palliative Care team. This appointment will support the delivery of a 7-day visiting service at SASH.
The palliative care team provide advice and support to patients, carers and staff across the Trust on advanced, progressive disease management, pain and symptom control and end of life care. They liaise with our community colleagues and local hospice, and provide education and support to staff caring for palliative care patients throughout the Trust. As a CNS within a multi-professional team, you will be taking on the role of key worker, liaising with primary care providers and relevant outside agencies, in order to provide a co-ordinated and comprehensive service.
You should be confident and self-motivated, with excellent communication and influencing skills and, utilising the benefit of your clinical knowledge and experience, be able to act as a resource to all staff and other healthcare professionals, providing education as appropriate
You will be part of a well-established and expanding Cancer Nursing Service, which offers a friendly and supportive work environment, participation in clinical supervision and excellent opportunities for both formal and informal professional advancement.
