An exceptional opportunity has arisen within the Respiratory Department at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust for a fixed-term consultant post, with the potential for transition to a substantive position for suitable candidates. Additionally, direct recruitment to a substantive post will be considered for experienced consultants who demonstrate the necessary skills and qualifications to excel in this role.

Outpatient Clinics:
• Conduct three general respiratory clinics per week, addressing a wide range of respiratory conditions.
• Manage one sleep clinic per week, focusing on sleep-disordered breathing and related conditions.
• Lead one general respiratory triage clinic per week, assessing and managing new referrals and urgent cases.
Procedures
• Perform 1–3 bronchoscopy sessions per week, including diagnostic and interventional procedures.
On-Call and Ward Commitments
• Participate in a 1 in 12 ward rota, which includes providing cover during weekends.
• Contribute to the NIV on-call rota, supporting patients with acute and chronic respiratory failure.
• Engage in the general medical on-call rota, covering Monday to Thursday from 5 PM–9 PM, followed by remote on-call responsibilities to ensure continuity of care for acute medical admissions.
