Our Central Functions business continues to grow, and we are now looking for a Coordinator to join our HR team in the Reading office. This is an exciting role and would most likely suit someone with previous experience from a medium sized company where they have gained knowledge and experience of supporting all aspects of the payroll processing cycle.

The Team
The HR Team has expanded in support of the growth of the business, and alongside business as usual, the team is also re-defining processes, procedures and embarking on continuous improvement projects required to provide a professional and consistent service across XPS Group.
The Role
Working within a small payroll team, you will:
1. Oversee data input for all HR/payroll activity in line with the payroll timetable. The data will include changes to resourcing e.g. new starters, internal moves, leavers, planned and unplanned absences (e.g. sickness, maternity) and other ancillary request e.g. benefit payments/deductions etc and ensuring all payroll data is checked, validated, and signed off during the payroll window prior to finalising the payroll each month.
2. Maintain accurate records for pension contributions, flexible benefits for timely payment to the relevant organisations in a timely manner.
3. Ensure all pension processes - auto enrolment and pension fund transfers are adhered to for employees enrolled in the pension scheme by the deadlines set by the pension providers.
4. Act as the first point of contact for all Payroll queries received via the HR Service portal, responding to or escalating queries as appropriate.
5. Process payroll reports, business reports and any ad hoc reports as required to inform business decisions.
6. Actively contribute to the constant reviewing of current practices and processes to ensure continuous improvement and provide ad hoc administrative support to the wider HR team to support ongoing HR initiatives and projects.
7. Support the payroll manager with the resolution of all payroll related queries with company's' outsourced payroll provider within agreed SLA.
8. Responsible for the completion of external survey requirement (e.g. ONS) in accordance with GDPR principles.
9. Provide support to and cover for the Payroll Manager by ensuring the monthly payroll process is delivered and staff payments are made in line with SLAs.
Your profile
Essential Criteria
1. Previous proven experience of a medium sized payroll.
2. Minimum Grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
3. IT literate, with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel - particularly in VLOOKUP's), and confidence working with different HR and payroll systems.
4. Highly organised and planning skills - able to work on their own initiative.
5. Able to work effectively under pressure to tight deadlines.
6. Ability to follow processes and procedures.
7. Able to always maintain confidentiality and integrity.
Desirable Criteria
1. Possess strong communication skills both written and verbal.
2. Member of a professional payroll body e.g. CIPP qualification or equivalent.
3. Possess an enthusiasm to develop, improve and enhance the service provided.
4. Experience of working with an outsourced payroll provider.
