Required skills and experience Vocational qualification in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline is desirable, but experience will also be considered Excellent communication skills within the EV powertrain team Adaptability and applied learning Ability to work autonomously Maintaining clear and traceable documentation Strong H&S awareness and understanding Beneficial skills and experience EV powertrain, battery, Hybrid systems knowledge Experience of EV powertrain or Hybrid system test operations Knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems This is a rotating week shift-based position. Early Shift - 6am – 2pm, Late Shift - 2pm – 10pm ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Intertek’s TT laboratory network employs over 1000 staff in 28 labs in USA, Europe and East Asia, with a diverse portfolio of Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification (ATIC) services for Automotive, Aerospace, Marine & Rail customers, which includes everything from automobiles, trucks and commercial vehicles, to aircraft, military vehicles, trains, marine vessels, motorcycles, lawn equipment, and more. TT-UK has two laboratories, both based in Milton Keynes. Tanners Drive specialises in combustion engine, transmission and complete powertrain testing services, covering advanced research, product development, robustness and certification for Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier 1 suppliers. This laboratory also specialises in engine-based fuel additives testing for chemical companies. The second laboratory, in Davy Avenue specialises in electric vehicle propulsion systems testing services, covering electric motors, full integrated axle modules and complete vehicles. This is one of the fastest growing businesses in Intertek, more than doubling in size every two years since 2015. Responsible for supporting operation of test rigs outside of normal office hours using defined test methods and scripts Help to implement and follow safe systems of work Support the installation and calibration of data acquisition systems Support the debugging and commissioning of complex electronic systems with high speed serial interfaces (CAN/FLEXRAY etc) Ensure that the data generated is valid and in line with customer requirements Liaise with colleagues, customers and suppliers in a professional manner Ensure all instrumentation used is calibrated in line with company procedures Ensure high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation in the cell and associated workshop areas WHAT WE OFFER Join Intertek and become part of our global network of inspiring and entrepreneurial colleagues.
