Profile Summary
The MIT BIT Programme is undergoing a large-scale application transformation. To support this initiative, we require to hire a dedicated Business Data Analyst who will play a critical role in analysing the current Database-based data landscape and facilitating the transition to a strategic solution. This role will be pivotal in evaluating existing data models, understanding data purpose, and designing the future data ecosystem aligned with business objectives.
Our Business/Data Analysis Team help to define and implement business/information system solutions. Their role is to help the business to determine and agree its requirements and support the Development through to a successful outcome.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Specify business requirements for new and existing software applications
* Conduct end-to-end analysis of the current As-Is system’s data structures, sources, and purposes within the database environment (Oracle etc).
* Support the Delivery Team through the Software Development Lifecycle to a successful outcome
* Adherence to Business/Data Analysis standards and targets
* Identify fragmented or inconsistent data repositories and propose To-Be data models and architectures.
* Work closely with Business Stakeholders, Enterprise Architects, and Database Engineers to define data governance strategies and standardization.
* Identify and mitigate Key Person Dependency by creating documentation and knowledge-sharing processes, reducing reliance on a limited set of database developers.
* Manage small Project deliverables - Planning, co-ordinating monitoring and reporting
* Providing written progress updates to the Business Analysis Team Leader/Project manager on a weekly basis
* Collaborate with offshore and external data analysis resources, ensuring scalability and adaptability for changing project demands.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* In-depth understanding of the software development process and overall project life cycle (Essential)
* Able to understand business user requirements (Essential)
* Excellent business acumen and client facing skills (Essential)
* 5+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in large-scale transformation projects
* A conceptual thinker who can present complex ideas and topics to a wide audience (both technical and non-technical) (Essential)
* Good analytical skills, able to contribute to major business change (Essential)
* Self assured, dynamic, open to ideas, able to influence others (Essential)
* Able to work to tight timescales, be commercially aware, and have the ability to work well within a team structure (Essential)

* Knowledge of banking systems and products (Essential)
