Job Description The Payroll Manager ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with UK tax regulations, employment laws, and best payroll practices. The Payroll Manager will collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to maintain seamless payroll operations ensuring exceptional employee experience. Key responsibilities: Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing Lead on all payroll related projects Ensure compliance with UK payroll regulations, including PAYE, National Insurance, pensions auto-enrolment, and statutory payments Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity Supporting the HR Service Centre with processing the payroll for employees, including salaries, benefits, bonuses, and deductions Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure alignment of payroll with employee benefits and compensation policies Generate payroll reports and provide analysis for financial planning, budgeting and reconciliation Implement payroll system updates and improvements Provide support and training to the wider HR Service Centre team on payroll administration and processes Work with the HR Service Centre to respond to employee enquiries regarding payroll and resolve any related concerns. Skills and experience required: Foundation Degree in Payroll Management (CIPP) Extensive current, technical payroll knowledge Familiarity with UK payroll and pension regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements Strong knowledge of UK payroll systems and software Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Effective communication and leadership skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Excellent customer service skills with a strong can-do attitude Ability to work closely with HR colleagues to build a strong team ethos and high performing team culture Proficient and comfortable using multiple technology platforms, including experience and competency with Excel, Word, and Teams Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively collaborate across the teams Ability to deal sensitively and appropriately with confidential information and maintain confidentiality at all times in line with GDPR legislation. Desirable: Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field Experience with Workday Payroll and HR system
