I am currently recruiting for a Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant for an alternative education provision in the High Peak area that caters for young people aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs (SEMH).
The role is offered on a full-time, long-term temporary basis paying up to £100 per day and could become a permanent appointment for the right candidate.
The Role
Monday to Friday 8.45am to 3.30pm
SEMH Teaching Assistants will support the class teacher in the delivery of lessons by preventing or de-escalating challenging behaviours, engaging, motivating, and maintaining the focus of pupils while also assisting with input to learning.
Lots of empathy, patience, and determination to persevere through challenges in order to help young people make progress.
Promote safety, inclusion, and a positive learning environment at all times.

1. Have an enhanced DBS certificate (or be happy to apply for a new one).
2. Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
3. Min. of 2 professional references.
4. Provide a CV with a full history.
5. Have the legal right to work in the UK.
6. Have QTS or QTLS.
7. Ability to cover a range of subjects.
