Teaching Personnel are seeking educators who are passionate about education to work with children in a lovely vibrant Welsh Secondary School based in Blackwood as a Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 11-18.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who require additional support in their educational journey!
Key Responsibilities:
Assist teachers in delivering tailored support to students with various special educational needs through the medium of Welsh.
Provide one-on-one support to students during lessons and activities.
Learning approaches include sensory activities, practical lessons, and structured individual development plans.
Help maintain a positive and engaging learning environment.
Support the development of students' social skills and confidence.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
Fluent in the Welsh Language
No formal qualifications required; however, experience in a similar role, sports coaching, youth work, health and social work or working with children is preferred.
A compassionate, patient, and resilient attitude.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
A genuine interest in supporting children with special educational needs.
Successful applicants will have:
A passion for education and dedication and willingness to support pupils with a range of needs
Transferable social and communication skills from previous employment or hobbies
Commitment to completing all required training courses promptly
An enhanced DBS check on the update service (guidance will be given)
Registered with the EWC (guidance will be given)
Provide 2 references
Able to travel to the Blackwood area
